Jim Jordan
Managing Partner
Jim provides our
clients with extensive financial experience in software,
professional services, mergers and acquisitions, and IPOs. Jim has
served as CFO for numerous venture funded companies including;
Glasshouse Technologies, BIT9, Verrillon, EnernNOC and Ntru to name
a few. Prior to co-founding Venture Advisors, Jim was CFO and
Treasurer for ArsDigita Corporation, a venture capital-funded
software company in the content and knowledge management space.
ArsDigita successfully raised more than $42 million in funding and
was eventually sold to Red Hat, Inc. Prior to joining ArsDigita, Jim
served as Associate Vice President of International Finance for
Cambridge Technology Partners, Inc., where he had financial
responsibility for CTP’s international business of approximately
$220 million in annual revenues. At CTP, Jim also served as Director
of Business Development, where he was responsible for acquisition
selection, analysis and integration. Previously, Jim spent four
years with PricewaterhouseCoopers, providing tax, accounting and IPO
services to numerous companies. Jim is a certified public accountant
and is a graduate of Boston College.
Jim Antes
Partner
Jim brings over
twenty years of financial management experience to his clients.
He has extensive hands-on experience in both private and public
companies having raised over $60 million in venture financing.
Most recently, he has served as interim CFO at several development
stage companies guiding them through bridge, venture equity and debt
financings. Previously, Jim was Vice President of Finance at
Emulex (a leader in Fibre Channel Networking) with responsibilities
for operations and investor relations. During his time at Emulex,
he participated in several acquisitions and two convertible debt
offerings raising more than $650 million. Prior to Emulex, Jim
was CFO at Giganet where he led the company through three rounds of
financing and sold the business in 2001 to Emulex for $650M .
He has also been CFO or held senior financial positions in several
software companies including Passkey Systems, DALim, Software
Emancipation Technology, FASTech Integration and Bachman Information
Systems. He holds an MBA from Boston University and a BS in
Accounting from the University of Denver and he is a Certified
Public Accountant.
Dick Buckingham
Partner
Dick presents to
clients a seasoned financial executive with more than 20 years of
financial, operations, treasury, and administrative management
experience gained in the high-technology, Internet, services,
manufacturing and consumer products industries. He has spent his
professional career as a change manager, working in high growth or
turnaround situations. Following a successful career with Fortune
500 companies, Dick has spent the last few years advising start-up
and venture backed entrepreneurs. He served as CFO of Family
Education Network (FEN), the Internet's largest and most robust
family of websites serving the K-12 education market. At FEN, he was
instrumental in the sale of the business for $175 million to Pearson
plc. Other recent clients have been in the telecom, contract
manufacturing, software, financial services, and education
industries. In his earlier career, Dick spent 10 years at Wang
Global, as Vice President of Financial Services and Treasurer. He
was the third outside professional hired by Wang in 1990 to develop
and execute the turnaround plan for the business. Dick has also held
senior management positions at Manufacturers Services, Prime
Computer, Computervision, Wheelabrator Frye and General Mills. Dick
received his MBA from the Harvard Business School and an A.B. in
Economics from Wabash College.
Robert Dudley
Partner
Bob brings more than 12 years experience as CFO in both publicly traded
and venture-backed emerging-growth companies in technology and medical
device industries. Bob joins Venture Advisors from Synamics, a
multi-national developer of communication and conferencing software, where
he served as Vice President and CFO. Before Synamics, he was Vice
President and CFO of BaseSix, an emerging-growth IT services company. In
both positions, Bob was instrumental in securing venture financing and
driving scalable best-in-class business practices and standards for these
early stage companies.Prior to these entrepreneurial ventures, Bob was
Vice President, CFO and Treasurer of Inso Corporation, a $70 million
publicly traded enterprise software company. He also had a successful
14-year career at Data General, where he was CFO of a $625 million
multi-national operating division.
Bob began his career at Johnson & Johnson,
where he was an M&A Analyst and Marketing Accounting Manager. He holds an
MBA from Suffolk University and is a graduate of the University of
Massachusetts, Lowell.
Doc Honan
Partner
Doc brings more than 30 years of experience as a CFO and COO, mainly
with start-ups and emerging growth companies. He has led nine rounds
of venture and strategic funding totaling $65 million and also led a
successful IPO with an initial capitalization of $150 million, which
grew to $280 million within several months. Doc has managed
virtually all aspects of finance, accounting and administration, and
is well versed in building sound infrastructure to enable companies
to scale through the various stages from start-up to a mature,
sustainable business. Doc has been CFO of public companies,
including Ludlow Corporation and Proteon, Inc., and private
companies, including ManagedComp, Into Networks and Chinook
Communications, and was the vice president of M&A at Tyco
International. He has extensive experience negotiating a wide range
of strategic agreements, intellectual property licenses,
distribution and joint venture agreements and approximately $350
million of acquisition/divestiture transactions. Doc was previously
a principal with Arthur Young & Company, and he has also acquired
significant experience in international operations. A magna cum
laude graduate of Providence College, Doc received his MBA from
Harvard Business School. He is a CPA and earned the Silver Medal for

David Rauktys

David leads our Strategic Transaction Services
efforts. David served as an investment banker at First Albany
Corporation from 1991 to 2003. He was most recently a Managing
Director in the Corporate Finance Group, where he was responsible
for leading the Boston group's efforts in IT services, software and
enterprise hardware markets. His responsibilities included the
origination and primary execution of public offerings, strategic
mergers and acquisitions and private equity transactions. He has
completed more than 50 investment banking transactions and advisory
assignments, raising more than $2.4 billion for such companies as
Forrester Research, NaviSite, NIC, USWeb, iXL, Ericsson, Critical
Path and VeriSign. Dave holds a bachelor’s degree with highest
distinction from Babson College, where he majored in Finance,
Investments and Economics and graduated in two years. He also earned
an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
